Wine Savvy For The Board Room & The Water Cooler

Producing a big wine tasting event tonight (client appreciation) and I'm excited!  My clients say that their clients are quite into Pinot Noirs and Burgundies.  Funny...ME TOO!  Can't wait to show them the comparisons between a top Premier Cru Burgundy (Robert Parker and Wine Spectator favorite,) one of my most beloved Oregon Pinot Noirs and a fun, newer Pinot Noir from New Zealand.  Of course, there will be plenty of other wines to try (eleven all-told) including my house wine -- Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc and wines from my perennial favorites, Chappellet, Bougrier (Vouvray- see yesterday's blog,) Shafer, La Sirena (as in the best winemaker in the US, Heidi Barrett,) and one really big Cabernet Sauvignon...to get the names of the Pinot's and the Cab, you'll just have to check in tomorrow.

So what am I drinking to get ready for the big event?  A Raymond Napa Valley Chardonnay, 2009.  Lemmony-orange with a hint of oak and pretty pear notes.  Very easy to drink...think I'll stop at a few sips :)
